The Chartered Institute of Education and Training (CIET) places a strong emphasis on Continuous Professional Development (CPD) as a core requirement for all members. CPD ensures that educators, trainers, and learning professionals maintain competence, enhance expertise, and stay current with global best practices in education and training.

All CIET members are expected to engage in regular CPD activities, document their participation, and demonstrate professional growth. CPD is also a key factor for membership upgrades and Fellowship eligibility.

Acceptable CPD Activities

Members may fulfill CPD requirements through a variety of professional learning activities. All activities must contribute to professional development and competence enhancement.

Participation in accredited events that enhance knowledge and skills in education, training, and pedagogical facilitation.

💻 Online Courses, Webinars, and E-Learning Modules

Completion of online training programs approved by CIET or recognized professional bodies.

📚 Research, Publications, and Academic Presentations

Authoring articles, research papers, case studies, or presenting findings at conferences.

🤝 Mentorship, Coaching, and Supervision

Mentoring colleagues, coaching emerging educators, or supervising training programs.

🏛️ CIET Committees, Advisory Boards, and Policy Initiatives

Contributing to professional committees, working groups, or policy development projects.

⚙️ Professional Projects and Case Studies

Implementing innovative education, training, or learning management practices and documenting outcomes.

Recording and Submission

CIET maintains a comprehensive CPD tracking system to ensure all members meet their professional development obligations.

  • Members are required to log all CPD activities in the CIET member portal throughout the year
  • Evidence of CPD (certificates, attendance records, project reports, publications, or mentoring logs) must be submitted annually
  • CPD records are reviewed by the Membership Committee to ensure compliance with requirements
